The Joy of My Calling
I sit here this morning reveling in the joy of my calling. I reflect on the women I have been privileged to attend them through out their year of pregnancy, birthing their babies and the after care. Several different families with different lives and circumstances yet all desiring the best for them. Researching when issues arise and being confidant in their abilities to make wise decision. I love to watch the growth, endurance, patience and joy that wraps around each one as they embrace the blessing from God.
I am so blessed to be a midwife. Its calling is as deeply profound as the person called to spiritual ministry. Every day I am blessed to see God work in the lives of others with the privilege of watching babies be born and families evolve as the constitution changes with each child added. The awe and wonderment that engulfs me each day blankets me in joy and praise to my God as to how we are wonderfully made.
I am reminded of the the song “Because He Lives”
How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!
